Transportation is a problem for blood collection team from the National Referral Hospital.

Chief Medical Technologist and Director Medical Lab at the Hospital Mr. Alfred Dofai told SIBC News this morning, he is hesitant to say that the situation has improved.

Dofai said infrastructure breakdown and the declining number of donors have exacerbated NRH’s blood supply.

He adds currently, his team heavily relies on volunteer walk-in donor and relatives to sustain the supply level.

Mr. Dofai re-emphasises the need for voluntary blood donation.
