GOVT DONATES 20,000 GRAND TO SULUFOU CHURCH
The Government has given 20-thousand dollars to a North East Malaita church.
In a ceremony yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga delivered the government donation to St. Paul’s Sulufou Church.
The 20-thousand dollars was to help the Anglican community in Sulufou to celebrate the opening of their newly built church in December last year.
The Government Communications Unit says Deputy Prime Minister Maelanga was invited to attend the ceremony on December 28 last year but he was unable to attend due to bad weather.
The Deputy Prime Minister then assured the community, the Government was happy to help the celebrations in a small way.
At the handover, Mr Maelanga said he is giving the 20-thousand which he had planned to pledge during his trip.
He said the money would be useful to the Sulufou community, especially in their efforts to maintain the new church building.
