A group who gave itself the name- ‘Disaster Victim Coalition Team’ is concerned, relief supplies distribution at the Pavilion Evacuation Centre is insufficient.

Group spokesperson, Linda Ago’oka says Pavilion Evacuation Centre registers more than two-thousand victims, but food supplies are not enough for every member of the camp.

“Population at the Pavilion is two thousand one hundred and thirty-two people, the Pavilion itself, and when relief supplies were distributed, a family can only receive two cups, a tin of tuna and two instant noodles.”

Mrs Ago’oka says, her group understands, food supplies have been reduced because of government’s plans to send victims to their respective homes but not many are willing to return home because most of their livelihoods are no longer there.
