The High Court has struck out the election petition against MP for East Kwaio Stanley Sofu.

The petition was filed by losing candidates of the 2014 National General Election Alfred Sasako and Willy Mete.

Registrar of the High Court Maiyonni Samani confirms the Court struck out the petition after a preliminary hearing.

Ms. Samani says the Judge ruled the petition was null and void.

Meanwhile, the election petition against MP for West Kwara’ae Sam Iduri has been withdrawn.

Petitioner Clement Oikali withdrew the petition in February this year. This is the second petition withdrawn.

The election petition against East Are’are MP, Andrew Manepora had been withdrawn earlier.

There are 12 election petitions still before the High Court.

The petitions are in various stages to be set for pre-trial conference, mention and trial.
