INCOMING M.S.G CHAIR CALLS FOR CONTINUED SOLIDARITY

The incoming chair of the Melanesian Spearhead Group Foreign Ministers Meeting, Hon. Milner Tozaka has called for continued
solidarity in making the sub-regional group, MSG, remain relevant.

Taking over the chairmanship this morning, Mr Tozaka says, the MSG grouping and its works manifests a project to promote issues of interests to our peoples but also pragmatically address stepping stone issues to regional economic integration.

The Solomon Islands Foreign Minister says together MSG nations can confront challenges and issues individually faced in members sovereign jurisdictions through bilateral cooperation and sharing of models of good practice.

He adds the block can also work together as a combined force to address and meet challenges, some of which are global and transcend national borders.

Mr. Tozaka emphasised, he counts on the cooperation and support of all his MSG colleagues.

He says the regional block can work together to advance the group’s interests and deliver on aspirations to benefit our countries, both in terms of political, economic, social and cultural fronts.

Mr Tozaka welcomes his MSG counterparts and officials on behalf of the government and the people of Solomon Islands to Honiara.

Meanwhile, Mr Tozaka also thank the outgoing Chair, Madame CarolineReignier-Machoro of the FLNKS for her sterling leadership.

Mr Tozaka said the past two years under Madame Caroline’s leadership has been exceptional.
