Local reggae sensation, Kirwan Hatigeva, famously known as ‘Jahboy’, is set to make a historic performance at the ‘One Love Reggae’ festival in Southern Hemisphere, Tauranga New Zealand, next year.

The two day festival is the largest reggae carnival in the Southern Hemisphere.

It will feature Jahboy alongside globally renowned bands such as UB40, George Fiji Veikoso, and Kymani Marley, with an expected attendees of over 25,000.

He will be the first Solomon Islands artist to perform in the event.

Mr Hatigeva said he was humbled by the call to perform.

He says it was a historic moment indeed for the country’s music industry, and he is proud to represent the country in such a prestigious international music festival.

“This is a huge moment for us, I will not only represented Rebelle Inc , but I will be representing the country as a whole, ” he said.

“For me this is a huge step for my career, it is a challenge for me this is a challenge for me to step up what i’m doing , When I go up on stage I will be carrying my country with me and I will do my best.”

SIBC understands he is now currently working with European Reggae producer ‘Syrix’ and they will be releasing their first song at the end of this month.
