People of Kamaga Community in East Choiseul are urgently calling on the ruling government to address their contaminated water which is believed to have since claimed three lives leaving many others hospitalised.

This is a serious health issue for the community believed to have caused the recent dysentery outbreak in the community.

The community has been forced to use contaminated water after logging activities and spillage destroyed their river.

Timothy Talasasa of North East Choiseul sends this report.

“Where are the millions of dollars promised by the Government for rural development and for communities? Here in Kamaga, for a very long time, people still lack water supply services and only very few people have water tanks.”
