M.I.D URGED TO IMPLEMENT HONIARA SHORT BUS ROUTES

The Leader of Opposition, Dr Derek Sikua has urged the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development (MID) to implement the eleven routes which were recommended in the Parliamentary Report on Short Bus Routes in Honiara.

Dr Sikua made the statement during his supplementary question on short bus routes in Parliament today.

He said the Ministry for Infrastructure Development needs to implement the routes to see if there is any improvement in bus services in Honiara.

“The 11 routes that are recommended in the report Mr Speaker, did come from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, so we were just curious as to how those were being implemented. It seems Mr Speaker at this stage nothing has happened as yet and I would like to urge the Ministry to go ahead and try to implement the 11 routes so that we can see if there’s any improvement on bus services to our people.”
