All constituencies across Malaita Province are set for the polling day tomorrow, says Filiramo Ganita the Election Manager for Malaita Province.

Mr Ganita confirmed this in an interview with SIBC News today, saying all constituencies are now ready for tomorrow and most of them have received their election materials throughout last week.

He says all returning Officers have already been deployed to their respective constituencies.

“At the moment preparations are well underway for the final day tomorrow, where every Returning Officer has already been deployed to their respective constituencies to carry out polling activities tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, the Election Manager for Malaita Province has commended the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission, saying the Commission has done a good job in preparing for this year’s National General Elections.

“What I have seen throughout this election, preparation work especially from the Electoral Headquarters has been a job well done in terms of training up to now, everything is progressing as scheduled. From my past experience, funds used to be a hiccup, but for tomorrow, I don’t see any hindrances for Malaita Province as it goes to the polls.

SIBC News understands Police officers from the Provincial Capital, along with additional officers from Honiara, have been deployed to constituencies across Malaita Province over the weekend and today.
