The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission is urging all registered voters across the country to cast their ballot papers between the hours of 7am and 5pm.

Chief Electoral Officer Polycarp Haununu says it is important that voters take note of the opening and closing hours of polling stations.

He said voters who turn up at their polling station after 5pm will not be allowed to cast their ballot paper.

“Polling starts at 7am and finishes at 5pm in the afternoon, so after 5pm those reaching the polling station can continue but those who may reach the polling station after that cannot be allowed to cast their votes.”

Meanwhile, the Chief Electoral Officer has made a final call to all voters to make sure they know which Polling Station to go to tomorrow.
