The National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) is currently establishing communications with Ghatokae community in the Western Province.

The community was reportedly affected by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake last week.

A statement from NEOC said there is minimal to no damage for all selected hotspot communities around the epicenter of the earthquake except Ghatokae community with some extent of damage to buildings.

The statement said NEOC’s communication is very sketchy for the community due to limited accessibility of Radio frequency.

It adds the office is liaising with the community’s focal point to identify informants for information.
