PARLIAMENT TO OPEN WITH SPEECH FROM THE THRONE FROM GG
The Governor General Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui will deliver the ‘Speech from the Throne’ when parliament commences its meeting Tomorrow.
The Parliament’s Media Unit says this speech marks the opening of the second meeting of the 10th Parliament.
It further explains, Sir Frank will receive a Royal salute before inspecting a guard of honour as he arrives at the National Parliament.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police and St Joseph’s Tenaru Pan-pipers will lead the parade during the state opening.
Following the short parade, the Governor General will be escorted into the chambers to deliver his speech from the throne for members of Parliament and guests officials.
It says Parliament will be adjourned after the ‘Speech from the Throne’ and The Prime Minister’s address is expected at a later date.
The Parliament’s media unit says Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast and His Lordship Chief Justice Sir Albert Palmer are among other guests invited to the state opening.
