The Royal Solomon Islands Force patrol boat Auki will return from Vanuatu next week after a relief mission following Cyclone Pam.

Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast also told a press conference this week the NDMO Office of Vanuatu is impressed with the relief mission Patrol Boat Auki provided.

“The patrol boat Auki is still deployed in Vanuatu. It’s been heavily tasked in terms of the disaster relief. We’re expecting perhaps that work will finish around next Tuesday and it will come back, but I have to say the feedback about how the boat’s performed and the work it’s done has been excellent.”

Patrol Boat Auki was deployed on a humanitarian mission to Port Vila, Vanuatu after the devastating tropical cyclone Pam last month.
