The grand opening ceremony to mark the start of the two days Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF) Leaders’ Summit is set for Lawson Tama Stadium tomorrow, Tuesday 12th July.

The Solomon Islands National Taskforce in a statement said this is a golden opportunity for the public to witness some of the region’s renowned leaders who are here for the two days summit.

This Leaders’ Summit is the first to happen outside of Fiji and the first one to be held after the PIDF Charter came into effect last year and the government and people of Solomon Islands are privileged to host this first Leaders’ Summit under the PIDF Charter.

The grand opening ceremony will begin at 7:00am and the Solomon Islands Government as the host of the Summit has encouraged the Honiara Public to come out to witness the grand opening program in style.

The Summit runs from Tuesday 12 to Wednesday 13 at Mendana Hotel with the Theme “Stewardship for Healthy Oceans and Healthy Nations”.
