PM in Tuvalu for 50th PIF

 

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare today attended an auspicious engagement hosted by the Government of Tuvalu, day one of the 50th Pacific Islands Forum

Alex Akwai reports from Funafuti, Tuvalu, Pacific Island leaders including Prime Minister Sogavare were invited for short presentations.

He  said leading Climate Change Scientists presented on the latest findings on Climate Change and opportunities for leader to hear first hand what Science say about its effects.

“The event is hosted by the Prime Minister of Tuvalu, The right honorable Enele Sopoaga, he did a presentation called the ‘Climate Change Sautalaga'” he said.

“Even today some climate change experts and specialists are also here to do their presentation on some critical climate change issues affecting the pacific.”

A closed session will follow for a climate Change declaration which Prime Minister Sogavare prefers to give it the name ‘Tuvalu Declaration on Climate Change for the Survival of Pacific island Developing States.
