The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will start another recruit course as of Monday next week.

Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast confirmed in his weekly mediaconference in Honiara.

“As of Monday the 17th of August we’ll be bringing another large recruit course into the RSIPF Academy. There’ll be 71 people in this program which will bring our total recruitment for the year to 110.”

The Police Commissioner adds, the course is a 20-weeks program and officers will go through a range of modules.

“The course is a 20-week program and officers will undergo a range of modules including training on how to be a professional police officer, physical testing, police administrative duties, operational tasks, community policing work, criminal law and policies, public order management, liquor offenses, traffic duties and offenses, cell and custody procedures, giving evidence in court and human rights.”
