Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Referral Hospital, Dr Roy Rodger has said the 2009 Report of the Special Select Committee Inquiry into the Quality of Medical Services provided at the National Referral Hospital was not factored into the current National Health Strategic Plan.

He said this at the Hearing into the 2009 Report of the Special Select Committee Inquiry into the Quality of Medical Services provided at the National Referral Hospital recently.

“The report was not factored into the National Health Strategic Plan for 2011-2015. The report was made in 2009. However, the National Health Strategic Plan has set objectives, strategies and indicators which may catch certain things in the report, but it didn’t say that we will look into the report.”

The CEO adds as stated in the report document, there should be an annual review of the report, but it was not done as required.

The National Health Strategic Plan 2010-2015 has met some of the recommendations of the report.
