President of the Solomon Islands Students Association (SISA) at the University of the South Pacific’s Laucala Campus in Fiji, Richard Hou has thanked the National Training Unit (NTU) director for his positive assurance after a meeting with him yesterday.

Mr Hou told SIBC News in an interview he is satisfied with the director’s assurance, saying now most of the issues faced by students at Laucala over the years will be addressed.

“I would like to express on behalf of the Solomon Islands students at Laucala to thank the NTU director for giving us assurance on some of the problems where students face from last year and as a student President, I don’t want to see them continue again this year.”

He said among the many issues students usually face is the delay in student allowances.

The SISA President says with the director’s assurance, he is confident that many of their problems will be solved.

“With this assurance, I am confident that this should solve many of our problems especially the allowances on time and I also remind him that the allowances should be paid on the 01st of each month as students expect it to be paid that way.”
