The Western Provincial Government has commended the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) for their support in maintaining peace and security in the province during the festive season.

Speaking in a media conference yesterday, Deputy Premier Wayne Maepio highlighted the National Government’s support through the RSIPF to address the conflict between two ethnic groups in the province last year.

He said their support brings confidence and freedom for the people of Western Province.

“He said their direction and leadership has hugely contributed to providing an environmental confidence that the people have experienced and that is through peaceful celebrations.”

Meanwhile, Western Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Frederick Satu has also acknowledged the people of the Western province for a peaceful festive season.
