The Good Samaritan Hospital in Tetere, North Guadalcanal has recorded an outbreak of dysentery since June this year.

SIBC’s North Guadalcanal stringer, Dudley Gani said according to the Nurse Manager of the hospital Naomi Vuza, a lot of patients being treated and admitted at the hospital have dysentery.

Mr Gani reported Mrs Vuza as saying the dysentery outbreak occurred after the diarrhea outbreak in May this year.

“According to the hospital Nurse Manager Naomi Vuza, since June a lot of patients being treated and admitted at the hospital were affected by dysentery. She said since the outbreak started an age range from new born babies to adults are affected. She said the outbreak of dysentery at the hospital has followed on the recent diarrhea outbreak and vomiting, where 205 cases were admitted in May”.
