A man from Malaita Province has appeared before the Magistrate’s Court for stabbing his wife and the owner of popular hang-out “Sarah’s Ice-cream” at Kukum.

The incident occurred in April this year and he was charged with two counts of unlawful wounding.

The accused was a security guard at the Pacific Casino Hotel premises at the time of the incident, and his wife was a former employee at the ice-cream shop.

Early in the evening of April 11, the accused, who was working on duty at the time, received information that his wife was seen entering the shop.

The accused went into the shop and started arguing with his wife and the owner of the shop, who is an expatriate from England.

During the argument, the accused pulled out a knife and stabbed his wife in front, and then stabbed the shop owner in his backside.

The accused appeared in Court yesterday, and will appear at a later date.
