MATAKWALAO COUNCIL OF CHIEFS TO MEETING MALAITA PROVINCE
Matakwalao Council of Chiefs in North Malaita is to host its first meeting with Malaita Provincial Government and its Provincial Peace Council tomorrow.
The meeting is part of a series of negotiations where involved parties are expect to attend.
Matakwalao Council of Chiefs Program Coordinator David Suata confirms this to SIBC News.
Mr Suata says the proposed meeting is initially organised to advance national development projects ear marked for north Maliata.
“The working committee will leave for Malaita today and their program for this week is that tomorrow they will have discussions with the Malaita provincial government and the peace office at Auki and on Wednesday they will be in Malu’u to meet with the Senior Administration Officer. Thursday they will at Matakwalao to discuss with the council of chiefs there, based on their program and development plan as well as inspect a site there.”
Matakwalao Council of Chiefs calls on all parties involve to fully participate in the initiative as this is crucial for successful implementation of the important developments projects.
“The Matakwalao Council of Chiefs with the team having the North in heart appeals on all of us to show our heart in support for development in what we are doing.”
The Council was formed early this year.
