NO TSUNAMI THREAT FOR SOLOMON ISLANDS, SAYS NDMO
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service, NDMO, has issued a ‘No Tsunami Threat statement’ following a 5.3 magnitude earthquake which struck near 38 Kilometres South west of Honiara at around 25 minutes past One this afternoon.
The National Disaster Management Office says the exact location of the quake’s epicentre was Latitude 9.74 South, and Longitude 159.74 East of Honiara.
It reiterates, Solomon Islands faces no TSUNAMI THREAT following the earthquake.
The NDMO says, no further updates will be issued unless the situation changes.
