PARTIES INVOLVED IN SUAFA BAY INCIDENT RECONCILED

Parties involved in an incident which resulted in the killing of a young man in Suafa, North Malaita have successfully conducted a reconciliation ceremony at Malu’u station, this week.

Malaita Provincial Police, Churches, Provincial Leaders and National Leaders in that region have worked hard to calm the situation which concluded with the reconciliation ceremony this week.

SIBC Stringer Mr John Andrew Kiri reports, parties involved in the incident have agreed to the reconciliation.

Mr Kiri said, the relatives and tribe of the accused have offered $100,000, 40 shell money, 10 pigs and other valued materials to the relatives and tribe of the deceased at the reconciliation ceremony.

Kiri adds, Local Police, Malaita Premier Peter Ramohia, North Malaita Parliamentarians, Minister Peace and Reconciliation Samuel Maneka, Churches and leaders of both parties involved have attended the ceremony.
