PENDING COURT CASE DELAYED DOMA TOWNSHIP PROJECT

Progress on the Doma Township project has been delayed awaiting the outcome of a court case.
Minister for Provincial Government Silas Tausinga explains, the contractor hired for initial work on the area took the Guadalcanal province to court over contract payment issues.
“The work that the project contractors did has questioned its payment. They have all the documentation for the work they did and they are still asking for their payment.”
Minister Tausinga says the ‘Township Concept’ is in the possession of the contractor who could not release it pending the court case.
He explains, the court case has nothing to do with land issues as claimed by some people.
