The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is yet to confirm a favourable site for the relocation of the National Referral Hospital.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS), Dr. Tenneth Dalipanda told the Public Accounts Committee, PAC, hearing recently.

Dr Dalipanda says, sites are assessed to stand against future disasters.

He says, favorable sites will be identified after geo-technical analysis are finalized.

“The latest from the Committee chair which I talked with him yesterday is that we are still to confirm the site. I think the Government has bought a site behind Gilbert Camp so we need a Geo-tech analysis engineering to advise us whether this site is suitable or not, so those are things yet to be done before we finalize the site.”

SIBC News understands, the National Government has already secured 700 hectares of land at the Gilbert Camp area for the NRH relocation.
