Taro Hospital, in Choiseul Province says it urgently needs a doctor.

SIBC’s Leni Dalavera reported from Choiseul Province this morning, nurses spoken to confirm the Taro Baby Friendly Hospital has been without a doctor for two consecutive years.

Leni reports, the nurses say the lack of a doctor is depriving people their right to full medical services.

“This is depriving the people of Choiseul Province their right to full medical service access. The nurses say major accidents or cases needing medical expertise are referred to Gizo hospital, exposing very sick people to long hours of sever weather in open boats.”
